Telling Tales Through Comics

Print maker, comic book artist and lecturer Andrew Kozlowski took part in our recent online exhibition Restriction with Correspondence Collective, by making a 4 panel comic. This was a miniature comic which was designed to fit across 4 letterpress drawer compartments. The story was inspired by the restrictions during the pandemic and how he observed his son Elliot reacting to this. You can hear all about this in our latest podcast, where Andrew shares his journey into comics and how they have always been a part of his life.

As well as discussing how keeping daily journals helps inform the stories he writes and the advice he passes on to his students to help them create their own, he talks about delivering some online comic book workshops later in the year.

This episode is full of advice on keeping your creative momentum and reminding you that “The sketchbook doesn’t care what you put in it, it just wants to be full!”

You can follow Andrew on instagram @andrew.kozlowski where he posts a new comic book entry every Sunday. If you are interested in buying a copy of Restricted we have these for sale here.
